As Triple Play Improv moves into a less regular performance schedule, we want to thank Café Deux Soleils and everyone who has supported us since we started performing in 2006 at the Shadbolt Centre in Burnaby.

After a hilarious night of improv with a packed audience, Triple Play Improv will be turning the page on its time at Café Deux Soleils. Next month, on August 10th, we'll have our 20th and final improv show at Café Deux Soleils, ending an incredible run of consecutive monthly shows.

We would like to thank all the people at Café Deux Soleils for their continued support over these past two years. You gave us a home and we occasionally wrecked your stage. We also want to thank everyone who has ever come out to see us play on Commercial Drive. Without your support, none of this could have happened.

After many years together, Triple Play Improv will be ending its regular monthly show and transitioning to a less frequent performance schedule to give its performers a much deserved break. Thanks again for all your support over the years and we hope to see you at our last Café Deux Soleils show.

Let the summer of improv love begin! We are launching our limited-run summer series of Triple Play Improv next Tuesday night (July 13th) at Café Deux Soleils. How limited is this series you ask? Just two shows!

We've put together a top of the line-up Triple Play Improv summer series* to commemorate the now famous original Summer of Improv Love in 1969 when improvisers from across North America came together in a farmer's field just outside Woodstock, New York for the world's largest spontaneous improv theatre festival. Three days later a rock concert was held in the same field that would supplant the Summer of Improv Love in the public's memory. But we haven't forgotten those muddy, pioneering improvisers.

Bring a blanket and get ready to feel the psychedelic grooves of Triple Play Improv next week at Café Deux Soleils.

*Very few hippies were harmed in the making of this show.

It was a fun night and a messy night. Our May show was a blast and we hope you all had a great time. It was a lot of fun playing to a full house at Café Deux Soleils and we were glad so many people could make it out to the show and tear themselves away from the hockey game. The game of the night was definitely our Arms Expert Cooking Show. Please let us know if you would like the recipe for Nathan's shepherd's pie. It was disgusting.

Lemon Loaf Massacre

Just Because Spider-Man is Awesome

Last year Marvel started releasing free episodes of the 1967 Spider-Man cartoon series online. For those who love comic-book superheroes and hilarious 1960s animation, this is a must watch.

We had an incredible time tonight and we want to thank everyone who came out to the show. The support keeps us going. The highlight of the night would probably have to be when we tried to get Nathan up for a keg-stand on Jeremy (the "keg").

It's time to make people laugh for a good cause. Because we are all collectively so weak and athletically inept, instead of running/walking relay-style for the Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay in Vancouver, we'll be performing live for the good people who have volunteered their time for this good cause.

Zut Alors Productions is looking for improvisers for a short film project at BCIT called Shadow Hands. The film documents the fictional life and times of Jean-Michel, a hand shadow puppeteer who rose from humble beginnings in Quebec to become the world's most renowned shadow artist of the 1960s and 70s.

We are proud to announce a new addition to the Triple Play Improv family: Nathan Woollard (see blurry cell phone picture)! After guest-starring in our April show at Café Deux Soleils and premiering in the May show, Nathan decided that it was just not enough for him so he has now joined the group.

Improv fans might recognize Nathan from UBC Improv and Tickle Me Pickle. Famous for his completely random outbursts and ideas, Nathan brings a new energy to the Triple Play Improv stage.

While the addition of Nathan as the fifth member of the group further erodes the logic of our name, "Quituple Play Improv" just didn't resonate with fans according to our market research.

Butts Laughed Off

According to eye-witness reports and testimony, several audience members laughed their butts off at the Triple Play Improv show last night at Café Deux Soleils.

The Marmaladies brought the audience to their feet with their always incredible vocal skills. The charming tones of these talented women left everyone wanting more, especially after their amazing renditions of "Faith" and "Walk Like An Egyptian".

Special guest, Nathan Woollard was an excellent addition to the cast and became an instant crowd favourite. The highlight of the night was when Sean molested Robin in a Moving People game. And, of course, the show was kept together by the glue of Andrea's impeccable hosting skills.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the show. Doing a monthly improv show like this takes a lot of work, but the best part is gathering a great group of friends (and new friends) to come together and watch us act like jackasses for an hour or so. We'll see you at our next show on Tuesday, May 12th @ Café Deux Soleils.

Triple Play Improv heads out on the road on March 27th to pay a visit to all the enthusiastic students at Trinity Western University. For years, the students at TWU have held a regular improv night every other Friday called 11:07. We're excited to make the trip out to Langley to join them for what promises, as always, to be a great night of improv.

Great Start to a New Year

As the title to this post makes evident, we had a great start to the New Year with our opening performance at Café Deux Soleils last Tuesday. We wanted to thank everyone who came out to watch the show and support our group. The atmosphere and location were perfect and we all had a lot of fun. Hopefully next time we'll get the sound working so Rusty can accompany the show with some music (sorry Rusty!).

Be sure to come back for our second show next month at Café Deux Soleils on February 10th at 8pm. We'll have a special opening act from the Baby Jessicas.

One Week Until Improv 2009

There's just one more week until Triple Play Improv opens its 2009 season with a premiere performance at Café Deux Soleils on Commercial Drive. The show starts at 8pm next Tuesday night (Jan. 13) for just $5. Come and enjoy some great food and better improv next week.

Last Performance at Myles of Beans

We recently finished our second performance at Myles of Beans coffee house in Burnaby for a wonderful and gracious audience. Our thanks go out to everyone who came and, of course, we thank the owners of Myles of Beans for supporting our group and providing a place for us to spread the joy of improv.
